Hello! Welcome! Thank you for visiting my blog! Ok, that's enough exclamation points for now. I write about a wide variety of topics ranging from religion and spirituality, to social media and family life, all from the perspective of a Mexican-American-Lutheran.

My name is Ron Valadez and I am a husband, father of three, and an M.Div. graduate of Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg. I grew up in the northern Californian "small town" of Vacaville and lived there until I married at 20 when I moved to Pennsylvania and remained there for 18 years, except for my third year of seminary where I had an internship in Birmingham, AL at Shepherd of the Hills. I now am pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Auburn, CA.

I have a wide variety of interests, as most people do, which include: Jesus, XBOX, RPG's, FPS's, bourbon, social justice, inter-faith dialogue, cigars, softball, sci-fi/fantasy/nerd culture, craft beer, Latino American roots, ELCA, theology, community, love, racquetball, bike riding, etc.

My goal is to blog once a week. If I do more, great, if not, I'll try harder. If this sounds like a blog for you then please subscribe! I look forward to our journey together in this crazy thing we call faith.

This is my personal blog. The opinions I express here do not necessarily represent those of the ELCA or any congregation therein. Please keep all comments civil and respectful. I reserve the right to delete any comments that I find objectionable, which may include but are not limited to comments that are: racist, off-topic, libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, pornographic, etc.
